On Wisconsin!!!

Good ol’ Wisco! Got to love the Dairy State!

Our first stop on our tour of Wisconsin was in Lancaster for a visit with Grandma and Grandpa Nuti. We feasted on a fabulous breakfast and were able to snag some much needed showers. Also, get ready Boulder County because our marriage license is officially in the mail thanks to the Lancaster Post Office! (We will be legal soon!)

Next we made the short jaunt over to Cuba City to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Gibbons. Naturally we had to swing by the cheese shop to pick up some sustenance in the form of string cheese and sausage. However, the nutritional highlight was definitely the homemade red raspberry jam we grabbed from the freezer for the road thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Gibbons’ amazing garden. You know, we would hate to see any of that delicious jam to go to waste. Yum!

On to Baraboo for some family time and a trip to the Baraboo zoo with the kiddos! Zoo highlights definitely included the massive black bear, Berryboo. (Bears in zoos become incredibly more interesting when you are faced with the fact that you might run into one without the protection of steal bars in a few weeks. Yikes!) We are still not convinced the wolves at the zoo were real however…looked a lot like Lassie if you ask us.

Next on our whirlwind Wisconsin tour we found ourselves in the always-awesome Manitowish Waters for some true R&R with Barbara’s family. Grandma and Grandpa Kort made sure we were fueled up with lots of tasty treats before we hit the water the next day. (Ron took the phrase “hit the water” to the next level during his valiant attempts to solemn water ski.) Waking up unbelievably sore the next morning due to lots of swimming, tubing, and skiing confirmed that we really did make the most of our time at the lake. Yay cottage!

Once we landed in Stevens Point, we prepped for our Wisconsin wedding reception on Saturday and got ready to PARTY! So many people made our Wisconsin shindig absolutely incredible! We could not have imagined a more perfect day or a better way to kick start this leg of our trip. We are so lucky to be surrounded by so many top-notch family and friends. Lots of love all around

From here on out…the White Rascal is westbound again!

Written in transit while driving through North Dakota headed westward.
